Tara + Jon: A Love Story

The love story started when…

Jon and Tara met 4 years ago at a “White Trash Bash” birthday party. What a fun meet-cute story! Since their first meeting, their love of the outdoors, a passion for adventure, and a love of dogs have aligned perfectly. There is no doubt that these two are living their best lives together.  After 3 years, Jon mustered up the courage to ask Tara to marry him, and of course, he did it in true J&T fashion.

We were hiking ‘The Narrows,’ an upstream hike in the middle of a canyon in Zion National Park. About 2 hours into our hike, we stopped to enjoy all the beauty around us. Jon cleverly asked our friends to take a picture of us, and when doing so, he got down on one knee and proposed!

When Jon isn’t saving lives in the ER as a nurse, and Tara isn’t empowering young minds as a 7th-grade English teacher, you can find the pair at the lake on a boat or in the mountains camping in their rooftop tent, usually with their 3 adorable dogs Athena, Coco, and Oreo.

Of course, these two lovebirds wanted their wedding to be in nature, and the uniqueness of the Black Bear Inn blew them away. Tara envisioned a “forest glamour” vibe and wanted their wedding to “feel almost like an intimate dinner party with our closest family and friends, and I’d say we accomplished that. It was a truly magical night.”
