Amy + Russell : A Love Story

The love story started…

before they even knew it was going to be a love story. In a tale as old as time, Russell was Amy’s brothers best friend growing up. They went their separate ways during college with Russell going to Texas and Amy going to Arizona. While she was home visiting from college, Amy ran into Russell at the grocery store. Later that night she got a Facebook message that she never responded to…oops!

I never thought one day I would be calling Russell my best friend, and husband.
— Amy

A few years passed and Amy decided to join a dating app on a weekend visit home, and wouldn’t you know it, Russell was one of the first people to pop up! Amy decided to go for it but was afraid of what her brother would think (this was his high school best friend after all).

Fast forward 3 months, after countless hours of Facetime, and late-night chats, Amy found herself packing up her studio apartment to move back to her hometown because she fell in love with her brother’s best friend.

On October 17, 2020, while in Jackson Hole Russell proposed to Amy. When they started planning their wedding their dream venue and vendors all had availability in March, which was unheard of due to the pandemic.

While that was a very short short time to plan a wedding, Amy says, they had incredible vendors who helped the Riners pull everything together. On March 27, 2021, at Union Hill, they said their “I do’s” and officially began their lives together!
